The appropriate financial software would help design firms to manage their operations and provide timely information ot their clients and suppliers. These software have the capability to produce graphs and other graphics. More importantly, these software are capable of automating information collection and organization into payroll, invoices and other reports. However, design firms should examine the proprietary rights that they will have with regards to the software.

Article Abstract:

Autodesk's Release 12, the newest version of the Autocad program features a more efficient product which has a competitive edge over its rivals. Its program characteristics and marketing advantages put it ahead of most of the other software products. However, other companies have their own aces for their products and intend to give Autodesk a stiff competition, most notably Intergraph's Microstation and Isicad's Cadvance. Still, Release 12 illustrates a milestone for the enhancement of computer software products to make it faster and more useable.

Sweet's Electronic Publishing has upgraded its CAP facility management CAD software improving its usefulness for interior design professionals. The new CAP-Comparasys program allows comparison of prices and features from various furniture manufacturers and can also analyze bids. The CAP system can now access information from Sweet's electronic catalog, which provides building product information for specifiers. All programs in the CAP system share common data files, which minimizes errors caused by information transfer.
