Tamarack Cultural Arts Center

Article Abstract:

Tamarack Cultural Arts Center houses the cultural and cottage industry products of West Virginia. The one-floor building was a project initiated by Governor Gaston in 1991 in an effort to promote the business of local cottage industries and tourism. Designed and constructed by Chute Gerdeman, the building features an attractive red roofing and a circular base that allows visitors to scan the displays in one-round viewing. It also houses a metal working studio, a custom-designed directory and a 180-seat theater facility for educational presentations and cultural shows.

What the owner wants

Article Abstract:

Architectural and designing firms, already under depression, are facing competition from furniture dealers and real estate brokers who are offering their services directly to the manufacturers along with their product. Unlike the services of the designing firms and layout designers, these brokers are less expensive, and hence the manufacturers would prefer them. Designing companies and architects have to formulate new business techniques to be in the market, by modifying their methods to suit the environment.
