Broadway

Article Abstract:

An account of the various Broadway hits that had some interesting twists before the Tony Awards is presented. Among the performances, "Hairspray" was the only big new true-to-type musical with original songs to engage, although its era listened back to the jukeboxes, high-school dance competitions, and Elvis worships.

The works of Dimitrje Parlic, one of the most successful ballet choreographer are presented. It is reported that he is a man whose genius lay in synthesizing many aspects, old and new, of international ballet with Balkan folkloric traditions and a splendid theatrical sense.
