Breaking through to the stars

Article Abstract:

NASA has established a 'Breakthrough Propulsion Physics' program to pursue new concepts in propulsion that would be needed for interstellar travel. Possible propulsion ideas relate to controlling gravitational forces, using the energy in the space vacuum or traveling faster than light.

Nuclear propulsion: the key to economical access through space

Article Abstract:

Nuclear energy can be used for space vehicles in the same way that it has been used for naval vessels. A brief overview of different nuclear propulsion concepts and how they apply to space flight is presented.
