Many people use computers extensively, but computers generally do not feature in their dreams. This is probably because computers are merely tools. In contrast, people who use computers creatively are more likely to dream about them. Some observers believe that there are direct connections between dreaming and the state of mind that often develops in those who surf the Web. Both in cyberspace and when dreaming, it is possible to escape from unpleasant events.

Marion Lyon is the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers (BTCV) manager. Much of BTCV's staff is unpaid and serves for one year, so staff training takes up much of her time. The Trust has continuing projects helping low- income families grow food and assisting local groups in applying for environmental grants. The best part of her job is seeing how pleased people are when they can make important changes in their environment.
