Paul Meiklejohn FCPA, principal at Ernst and Young, expresses his opinions on the facts that the good days of a public sector awash with cash for accounting has vanished because of a change in direction by the federal department of finance in terms of reform process. Steps taken to improve the conditions in the public sectors are discussed.

The practice of traditional payroll system in most of the Australian companies for maintaining the salary packaging and others among them is more complex according to the directors of the payroll association. Instead a new software application can be used to give more effective results for maintaining the payroll.
