Argonaute2 cleaves the anti-guide strand of siRNA during RISC activation

Article Abstract:

The mRNA-cleavage step of RNA interference is mediated by an endonucleus, argonaute2 (Ago2) within the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC). The anti-guide strand behaves as a RISC substrate and cleaved by Ago2, which is important for the removal of the anti-guide strand from Ago2 protein and activation of RISC.

Two birds with one stone- Dealing with nuclear transport and spindle assembly

Article Abstract:

Ran-GTP-sensitive interaction of importin beta and its cargo proteins are the simple devices used by the spindle assembly and nuclear transport. A study is carried out, which reports that one of these cargos required for spindle assembly turns out to be Rae1that was known as an mRNA export protein.

Splicing misplaced

Article Abstract:

The presence of functional spliceosomes and signal-dependent pre-mRNA splicing in the cytoplasm of platelets is discussed. Splicing in the cytoplasm is found to be a key regulatory event during platelet activation.
