Biodesulfurization of dibenzothiophene by microbial cells coated with magnetite nanoparticles

Article Abstract:

Microbial cells of Pseudomonas delafieldii were coated with magnetic nanoparticles and then immobilized by external application of a magnetic field. The results showed that the cells coated with Fe(sub 3)O(sub 4) nanoparticles had greater desulfurizing activity and operational stability

Genetic rearrangement strategy for optimizing the dibenzothhiophene biodesulfurization pathway in Rhodococccus erythropolis

Article Abstract:

The expression characteristics of the dibenzothiophene (dsz) operons are examined. The results have shown that the levels of transcription and translation of dszA, dszB and dszC has decreased according to the positions of the genes in the dsz operon in Rhodococcus erythropolis.

Dissimilatory iodate reduction by marine Pseudomonas sp. strain SCT

Article Abstract:

The study of an iodate-reducing bacterium, designated strain SCT, isolated from marine sediment slurry is done. Findings reveal that SCT is a dissimilatory iodate-reducing bacterium and that its iodate reductase is induced by iodate under anaerobic growth conditions.
