Characterization of highly efficient sucrose isomerase from Pantoea dispersa UQ68J and cloning of the sucrose isomerase gene

Article Abstract:

The cloning and characterization of four sucrose isomerase (SI) genes from isomaltulose-producing bacteria, Pantoea dispersa UQ68J, are described and the activities of the purified recombinant enzymes produced in Escherichia coli are compared. The enzyme from Pantoea dispersa is excellent when compared to other characterized SIs and it also has properties that can be used in the industrial biosynthesis of isomaltulose.

Use of pseudomonas putida EstA as an anchoring motif for display of a periplasmic enzyme on the surface of Escherichia coli

Article Abstract:

The N-terminal fusion display of the periplasmic enzyme beta-lactamase (Bla) on the surface of Escherichia coli is investigated by using translocator domain of pseudomonas putida outer membrane esterase (EstA). A topological model of the EstA translocator domain is provided, which serve as a basis for the construction of fusion proteins containing heterologous passenger domains.

Cloning, nucleotide sequence and overexpression of the L-Rhamnose Isomerase gene from Pseudomonas stutzeri in Escherichia coli

Article Abstract:

Description of cloning, sequencing, overproduction and characterization of the L-Rhamnose Isomerase gene from Pseudomonas stutzeri is given. This is done to produce various kinds of rare sugars by using micro-organisms.
