Identification and characterization of bacteria in a selenium-contaminated hypersaline evaporated pond

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the microbial community composition. The role of this composition as a factor for Se volatilization control in a solar evaporated pond has been investigated via the 16S ribosomal DNA phylogenetic analysis.

Direct incorporation of glucosamine and N-acetylglucosamine into exopolymers by Gluconacetobacter xylinus (= Acetobacter xylinum) ATCC 10245: production of chitosan-cellulose and chitin-cellulose exopolymers

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the Gluconacetobacter xylinus ATCC 10245. The flexibility of the polymerization system in this bacterium has been investigated via the selective feeding experiments, and the results are described.

Diversity and distribution in hypersaline microbial mats of bacteria related to Chloroflexus spp

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the filamentous bacteria containing bacteriochlorophylls c and a. The enrichment of these bacteria from the hypersaline microbial mats has been carried out and the results are described.
