Bovine rotavirus nonstructural protein 4 produced by Lactococcus lactis is antigenic and immunogenic

Article Abstract:

Researchers have genetically engineered Lactococcus lactis to produce rotavirus nonstructural protein 4 (NSP4). NSP4 is believed to be an enterotoxin produced by rotavirus, which is a major cause of diarrhea in babies and children.

Lactococcus lactis SpOx spontaneous mutants: A family of oxidative-stress-resistant dairy strains

Article Abstract:

Spontaneous oxidative-stress-resistant (SpOx) Lactococcus lactis mutants are isolated using a natural selection method with milk-adapted strains on dairy culture medium containing H2O2. The results revealed that the three SpOx mutants displayed greater H2O2 resistance.

Effects of intranasal administration of a leptin-secreting lactococcus lactis recombinant on food intake, body weight, and immune response of mice

Article Abstract:

An L. lactis strain is designed for highly efficient secretion of biologically active leptin. Biological activity of the leptin produced by L. lactis also demonstrated in vivo in mice.
