Gibberellins signal nuclear import of PHOR1, a photoperiod-responsive protein with homology to Drosophila armadillo

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on S. tuberosum ssp. andigena potato plants which require short days for the tuberization. The isolation of the photoperiod-responsive 1 which demonstrates the upregulated expression in induced leaves has been carried out and the results indicate that this photoperiod-responsive 1 is a gibberellin signaling pathway component.

Dynein anchores its mRNA cargo after apical transport in the Drosophila blastoderm Embryo

Article Abstract:

A new RNA anchoring assay in living Drosophila blastoderm embryos is used to show that apical anchoring of mRNA after completion of dynein transport does not depend on actin or on continuous active transport by the motor. A general principle is proposed that could also apply to other dynein cargo and to some other molecular motors.
