Identification of a universally primed-PCR-derived sequence-characterized amplified region marker for an antagonistic strain of Clonostachys rosea and development of a strain-specific PCR detection assay

Article Abstract:

Researchers have developed a PCR technique that can distinguish specific strains of bacteria from other strains. This will be useful when releasing biocontrol agents into the environment so researchers will be able to distinguish them from indigenous strains.

Reduced contamination by the Fusarium mycotoxin zearalenone in maize kernels through genetic modification with a detoxification gene

Article Abstract:

The examination of the feasibility of transgene-mediated detoxification in the maize kernel by producing a copy of zhd101 gene reveal that it might offer simple solutions to the problems of mycotoxin contamination in maize.
