In vitro determination of prebiotic properties of oligosaccharides derived from an orange juice manufacturing by-product stream

Article Abstract:

Fermentation properties of oligosaccharides derived from orange peel pectin are assessed in mixed fecal bacterial culture. The results have shown that pectic oligosaccharides (POS) have a beneficial effect on the fecal microflora, but a classical prebiotic effect was not found.

Characterization of the export of bulk poly(A)(super +) mRNA in Saccharomyces cerevisiae during the wine-making process

Article Abstract:

A demonstration of the changes in the transport of bulk poly(A)(super +) mRNA during fermentation in wine making is presented. The results suggested that bulk poly(A)(super +) mRNA accumulated in the nucleus as fermentation progressed.
