Induction of immune responses in mice after intragastric administration of Lactobacillus casei producing porcine parvovirus VP2 protein

Article Abstract:

The probability of using Lactobacillus casei 393 to express heterologous parvovirus protein and its ability to act as an antigen delivery carrier for oral vaccination are examined. The induced antibodies have shown neutralizing effects on porcine parvovirus (PPV) infections and hence the use of recombinant lactobacilli might become a valuable strategy for vaccine development of PPV.

Chlorination of indicator bacteria and viruses in primary sewage effluent

Article Abstract:

Research examines the usage of chlorine disinfectant of seeded bacterial and viral indicators to assess the contamination of their respective indigenous counterparts in primary treated sewage effluent. The F(sup)+ -specific RNA bacteriophage is an indicator of viral inactivation as shown by similar inactivation rates between enteroviruses and bacteriophages.

Biotransformation of explosives by the old yellow enzyme family of flavoproteins

Article Abstract:

This study explores the catalytic capabilities of five members of the old yellow enzyme family of flavoproteins. The nature of the transformation products differed with three of the five enzymes yielding products.
