Location of the self-incompatibility locus in an RFLP and RAPD map of Brassica oleracea

Article Abstract:

A self-incompatibility (SI) locus is located in the restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) and RAPD map of Brassica oleracea using segregation of RFLP locus and assaying SI phenotype. Segregation of 114 RFLP and 54 RAPD loci, from a cross between cabbage and broccoli, is used to develop a linkage map with nine linkage groups. The map covers 921 cM with average marker interval of about 5.6 cM. Female plant with Cr-7 allele is incompatible with Cr-7 pollen. SLG6 hybridizes with Cr-7, and corresponds to the S locus controlling the self-incompatibility and maps to linkage group 2.

Genetic linkage map of Brassica rapa recombinant inbred population

Article Abstract:

A genetic linkage map for a recombinant inbred population of cabbage, Brassica rapa, was constructed using restriction fragment length polymorphism and genetic probes. The investigation was able to generate a framework for the genetic linkage map of an immortal line of B. rapa which can be used to obtain other genetic information in this line. Although there is a small degree of segregation distortion, the generated B. rapa lines are fairly homozygous.

Novel flowering time variation in the resynthesized polyploid Brassica napus

Article Abstract:

Genome changes in resynthesized polyploids of Brassica napus were studied. Results suggest that de novo phenotypic variation for flowering time occurs rapidly after polypoid formation.
