Sequence-specific RNA binding by a Nova KH domain: implications for paraneoplastic disease and the fragile X syndrome

Article Abstract:

Results illustrate the three-dimensional structure of K homology domain along with a high-affinity RNA. Data suggest that a conserved hydrophobic amino acid residue in this domain is involved in the development of fragile X mental retardation syndrome.

Microarray identification of FMRP-associated brain mRNAs and altered mRNA translational profiles in fragile X syndrome

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the fragile X syndrome caused by the RNA binding FMR protein absence. The coimmunoprecipitation of the mRNA with the FMRP ribonucleoprotein complex has been investigated and used in microarrays interrogation.

Crystal structure of negative cofactor 2 recognizing the TBP-DNA transcription complex

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the negative cofactor 2, the TATA box binding protein and DNA ternary complex. The X-ray structure of this complex has been investigated and the regulatory implications of the negative cofactor 2 heterodimer structure are discussed.
