Microtubule "plus-end-tracking proteins": the end is just the beginning

Article Abstract:

The authors review publications on the microtubule polymers, the building materials in the cells. The topics of interest include the accessory factors termed plus-end-tracking proteins, the control by these proteins of the local microtubule assembly and the attachment of the microtubules to the cell membrane.

Microtubules, motors, and mRNA localization mechanisms: watching fluorescent messages move

Article Abstract:

The author discusses publications on the spatial and temporal localization of the specific mRNAs. The topics of interest include the mechanisms of localization and the tracking of the RNA movements in live oocytes and embryos.

Functional link between the mammalian exosome and mRNA decapping

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the mammalian mRNA turnover. Results indicate that this turnover can proceed via the coupled 3' to 5' exoribonuclease degradation-dependent decapping pathway.
