Population genetic structure of Anopheles arabiensis mosquitoes in Ethiopia and Eritrea

Article Abstract:

The population genetic structure of the major malaria vector, Anopheles arabiensis mosquitoes, in Ethiopia and Eritrea is examined. The findings indicate that A. arabiensis populations from the Northwestern Highlands and the Great Rift Valley region showed a similar level of genetic diversity.

A Microsatellite Map of the African Human Malaria Vector Anopheles funestus

Article Abstract:

A polytene chromosome map is presented for Anopheles funestus that delineates the breakpoints of polymorphic inversions known to date, along with microsatellite loci physical locations. For metapopulation analysis, 16 polymorphic microsatellite markers are suggested as a standard set.

Genetic Differentiation and Estimation of Effective Population Size and Migration Rates in Two Sympatric Ecotypes of the Marine Snail Littorina saxatilis

Article Abstract:

The population differentiation pattern between two ecotypes of the marine snail Littorina saxatilis of northwest Spain may be explained by differences in migration between the two most proximate localities.
