Gradient formation of the TGF-beta homolog Dpp

Article Abstract:

Results demonstrate that movement of the long-range Drosophila TGF-beta homolog Decapentaplegic (Dpp) is mediated by Dpp receptor and Dynamin functions. Data indicate that Dpp gradient is established via intracellular trafficking by endocytosis of the ligand leading to the gradient formation by endocytic sorting of Dpp in favor of recycling versus degradation.

Role of Drosophila alpha-adaptin in presynaptic vesicle recycling

Article Abstract:

Mutants of Drosophila alpha-adaptin gene were prepared and used to study its role in presynaptic vesicle recycling by clathrin-mediated endocytosis during neural transmission. The results demonstrated that alpha-adaptin is expressed in garland cells, imaginal discs and the central nervous system. Its functional analysis showed that alpha-adaptin plays an important role in the formation of clathrin-coated pits and in the recruitment of dynamin to the endocytic sites in presynaptic terminals.
