Sir-mediated repression can occur independently of chromosomal and subnuclear contexts

Article Abstract:

The molecular mechanisms of the three-dimensional architecture of the nucleus that shows additional layer of epigenetic control are not fully known to scientists but real-time microscopy has helped one get a better view of nuclear architecture. The tests conducted to know whether silent chromatins bind the nuclear periphery independently of telomeres and whether silencing lasts in the absence of anchorage are presented.

The chromosomal passenger complex is required for chromatin-induced microtubule stabilization and spindle assembly

Article Abstract:

The role of the chromosomal passenger complex in spindle assembly is investigated in the light of the discovery of the Dasra proteins. It is proposed that the chromosal passenger complex regulates local microtubule-depolymerizing kinesin (MCAK) activity to permit spindle formation namely, stabilization of chromatin-associated microtubules.

A protein complex containing Mei5 and Sae3 promotes the assembly of the meiosis-specific RecA homolog Dmc1

Article Abstract:

Meiosis recombination causes crossovers as well as non-crossovers and hence meiotic recombination needs meisosis-specific RecA homolog Dmc1 and RecA homolog Rad51. Studies were conducted to show that two meiosis-specific proteins, Mei5 and Sae3 are required for the assembly of Dmc1 but not necessary for Rad51, on chromosomes.
