Stimulation of RARalpha activation function AF-1 through binding to the general transcription factor TFIIH and phosphorylation by CDK7

Article Abstract:

The role of retinoic acid receptor (RAR) phosphoproteins in retinoic acid (RA)-induced cell differentiation was analyzed in transfected Cos-1 cells. Analysis of RAR phosphoproteins indicated the presence of putative phosphorylation sites for proline-directed kinases in the RARalpha B and F regions which were constitutively phosphorylated in transfected Cos-1 cells. Furthermore, one of the phosphorylation sites was located in the region that contained the activation function or AF-1.

GSK-3beta regulates phosphorylation of CRMP-2 and neuronal polarity

Article Abstract:

GSK-3beta phosphorylated collapsin response mediator protein-2 (CRMP-2) at Thr-514, inactivating the CRMP-2 activity, and participating in neuronal polarization through CRMP-2. It is also suggested that neurotrophin-3 (NT-3) decreases phopsphorylated CRMP-2 and increases nonphosrylated active CRMP-2, thereby promoting axon outgrowth.
