Structure-function analysis of NADPH:nitrate reductase from Aspergillus nidulans: analysis of altered pyridine nucleotide specificity

Article Abstract:

Results demonstrate that mutation in the region of niaD gene of Aspergillus nidulans alters co-enzyme specificity and ability to grow on nitrate in the medium. Data further indicate that the mutation involved a single amino acid change at Asp-813 which is essential for conferring co-enzyme specificity.

Landmarks in the early duplication cycles Aspergillus fumigatus and Aspergillus nidulans: polarity, germ tube emergence and separation

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on duplication cycle landmark control in filamentous fungi. The authors have compared the timing of these landmarks in Aspergillus fumigatus and A. nidulans, and they suggest that nuclear duplication and morphogenesis are in parallel pathways in filamentous fungi.

A family 26 mannanase produced by Clostridium thermocellum as a component of the cellulosome contains a domain which is conserved in mannanases from anaerobic fungi

Article Abstract:

Research was conducted to examine the role of mannanase in the degradation of mannan in the clostridia bacteria. Results show that the family 26 catalytic domains of the mannanase mediate the process in the bacteria and anaerobic fungi.
