Dimerization and nuclear entry of mPER proteins in mammalian cells

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the nuclear entry of circadian oscillatury gene products. The results of the nuclear translocation of genes are discussed.

Antagonistic role of E4BP4 and PAR proteins in the circadian oscillatory mechanism

Article Abstract:

The circadian oscillatory mechanism has been studied with the finding that E4BP, a basic leucine zipper transcription factor, and PAR proteins have antagonistic roles. They may switch back and forth between the on-off conditions of the target genes. The phase of e4bp4 mRNA rhythm is opposite to that of the dbp, hlf, and tef rhythms in the liver and the suprachiasmatic nucleus, the mammalian circadian center.

The PAS/LOV protein VIVID supports a rapidly dampened daytime oscillator that facilitates entrainment of the Neurospora circadian clock

Article Abstract:

VVD's (PAS/LOV protein VIVID) role within the circadian system of 'Neurospora crassa' is analyzed. It is found that VVD prevents clock resetting at dawn, by suppressing light responses in the early hours of the day and also promotes clock resetting at dusk by enhancing 'frq' mRNA turnover.
