An acyl-coenzyme A carboxylase encoding gene associated with jadomycin biosynthesis in Streptomyces venezuelae ISP5230

Article Abstract:

Research demonstrates that acyl-coenzyme carboxylase encoding gene provides malonyl-coenzyme A for the biosynthesis of a polyketide which is then processed to form the jadomycin B antibiotic in Streptomyces venezuelae.

The pdx genetic marker adjacent to the chloramphenicol biosynthesis gene cluster in Streptomyces venezuelae ISP5230: functional characterization

Article Abstract:

Chloramphenicol biosynthesis mutants of Streptomyces venezuelae ISP5230 produce chloramphenicol-producing colonies in the presence of the pDQ101 plasmid vector. Data indicate that transforming a pyridoxal-mutant host with the pDQ101 and by selecting for pyridoxal requirement, the genes responsible for vitamin B6 cofactors can be cloned.

p-Aminobenzoic acid and chloramphenicol biosysnthesis in Streptomyces venezuelae: gene sets for a key enzyme, 4-amino-4-deoxychorismate synthase

Article Abstract:

Research demonstrates that the 4-amino-4-deoxychorismic acid synthase is a major component of the secondary metabolic pathway. Data suggest that Streptomyces venezuelae ISP5230 may possess another set of genes involved in the expression of synhtase, which forms the folic acid cofactor component PABA.
