Transcriptional control of several aerobically induced cytochrome structural genes in Rhodobacter sphaeroides

Article Abstract:

Three Rhodobacter sphaeroides aerobic cytochrome gene promoters, ctaD, coxll and cycFG, were subjected to a research to determine how processes of energy-transducing enzymes react to anearobic and oxygen regulation. Cell growth analysis, media and genetic techniques, and primer extension analysis using operon fusions were the methods used. Findings revealed that the activity of the promoters increase under aerobic conditions and that aerobic cytochrome promoters also increase moderately after exposure to 30% oxygen. Furthermore, concentration of the Fnrl is not sufficient to intervene oxygen regulation of ctaD, coxyll and cycFG.

Close proximity of the tdh, trh and ure genes on the chromosome of Vibrio parahaemolyticus

Article Abstract:

Vibrio parahaemolyticus is a cause of seafood-related gastroenteritis, and there are reports of clinical isolates producing the enzyme. It has been demonstrated that the urease-positive phenotype of V. parahaemolyticus strains is always linked to the possession of the trh gene. The distribution of the tdh, trh and ure genes among clinically isolated V. parahaemolyticus strains has been studied to give an insight into the putative ancient transfer of virulence-factor genes and establish the location of genes in the genomic DNA.
