A multi-disciplinary identification of issues associated with 'contracting' in market-oriented health service reforms

Article Abstract:

A multi-disciplinary study into the introduction of contracting in the National Health Service (NHS) is discussed, covering the way in which multi-disciplinary perspective was approached. The research covered management information systems, activity modelling, soft systems methodology and accounting and finance. Transaction cost economics are reviewed and the approach to strategy formation, operations management, organizational learning the creation of enabling conditions are described.

Performance management, job satisfaction and organizational commitment

Article Abstract:

Recent research has investigated links between the key elements of performance management systems and positive employee attitudes. It was found that the psychological mediators of performance management are connected with employee attitudes. All key elements of performance management were found to be of significance in some way, and this indicates the potentially positive impact on employee job satisfaction of a wide-reaching approach to performance management.

Should I Stay or Should I Go? Explaining Turnover Intentions with Organizational Identification and Job Satisfaction

Article Abstract:

It is posited that the relationship between employee turnover and social identification is mediated by employee job satisfaction as the more specific assessment of one's working conditions and tasks. Illustrations verifying this hypothesis are presented.
