A preliminary test of Hunt's general theory of competition: Using artificial adaptive agents to study complex and ill-defined environments

Article Abstract:

A model of competitive markets based on Hunt's General theory of competition (HGTC) was developed using AAA (acting like buyers and sellers) that live, learn, evolve, and adapt in silicon. The results are found to be consistent with HGTC and demonstrate that competition is disequilibrium provoking and that innovation and organizational learning are endogenous and a major source of competitive advantage.
