A resource-based view of strategic IT alignment: how knowledge sharing creates competitive advantage

Article Abstract:

A model is presented; using the perspective of the resource-based view that examines how strategic IT alignment can produce enhanced organizational strategies that yield competitive advantage. The results showed that information intensity is an important antecedent to strategic IT alignment and that alignment between the IT plan and the business plan is significantly related to the use of IT for competitive advantage.

Integration between business planning and information systems planning: validating a stage hypothesis

Article Abstract:

A validation of an organizational growth model has been developed using the integration of business planning and information systems planning as indicators of the stage of growth. The growth model was compared to the four-stage model for the evolution of information systems planning and has been found to have a positive correlation with the benchmark variables used to categorize the stage of growth.
