An empirical study of equivalence judgments vs. ratio judgments in decision analysis

Article Abstract:

This study compared ratio, equivalence and preference judgements, finding that ratio judgments were less effective than equivalence judgments. Multiattribute decision-making techniques should capitalize on the decision-maker's tendency to make effective equivalent trade-off judgments. Further research should incorporate different, commonly-used techniques to draw out and combine equivalence trade-off judgments.
