Chris Hutt

Article Abstract:

Chris Hutt, formerly the national chair of the UK's Campaign for Real Ale, is managing director of pub chain Wizard Inns. The company, owned by Nomura, expects to become a leading player in the pub industry, with around 25 refurbished pubs planned by mid-1999. Hutt believes that local pubs should cater for local people and does not approve of the many branded pubs to be found in high streets. He says that the two most important challenges for the leisure industry are increasing customer satisfaction and improving the career prospects of staff.

Business continuity planning

Article Abstract:

Business continuity planning is a process developed by companies to ensure that the core business system will not be unsettled due to either internal or external failures. These failures may arise from infrastructure, manufacturing, supply chain and business process problems. To prepare for these problems, companies should create business continuity groups that will identify the mission-critical systems, conduct the risk assessment and develop the contingency plan.
