CEOs favor Howard for PM, but only just

Article Abstract:

A survey of 150 Australian CEOs found 66% did not believe Prime Minister John Howard was providing genuine political leadership but he remained the preferred candidate. A newer survey has found that while 35% of CEOs surveyed prefer Howard for prime minister, another 33% believe Treasurer Peter Costello would make a fine prime minister. Costello's support comes from the services and resources sectors.

Article Abstract:

The results of an opinion poll into the opinion of chief executives from top business enterprises on the parties and party leaders contesting the general election in 2001 are presented. The preference expressed for Prime Minister John Howard is discussed.
