CEOs give tax deal wary welcome

Article Abstract:

Business Review Weekly surveyed the chief executive officers of 1000 companies and discovered they support the federal government's compromise on the general services tax (GST), though 68% feel food should be excluded. Business prefers the GST to be passed intact but was not overwhelmingly in favor (52% to 48%) of reforming the Senate to prevent it from obstructing government legislation.
