Fighting the rankings of a college guide: campuses unite to press for change

Article Abstract:

The student assemblies of the California and Oklahoma state systems, plus more than 17 other colleges, have voted to appeal to U.S. News to end its annual survey and rating of colleges. Stanford pres. Gerhard Casper has been particularly blunt, calling its formula 'specious' and its precision 'spurious.'
