Finding Gold in the Software Revolution

Article Abstract:

Tom Park gave up his very comfortable lifestyle as an executive to begin Circadian - his software-only store. He entered the entrepreneurial lifestyle unafraid - he knew he would succeed as he had succeeded at everything else he had tried. At first he began designing software in his home, but soon he had to open the store when he ran out of room in his house. One of his biggest problems is cash flow, as he tries to predict and order what his customers will want. His profit margin is about twenty- five percent on software, less than what it could be because he sells at a discount. When he first opened he relied on word-of-mouth advertising, but eventually went with newspaper ads. He has plans to start a newsletter, but has no plans to start a nationwide chain. He just wants to make his software store the best it can be and to ride out the wave of the software revolution.
