Generic manufacturing strategies and plant performance

Article Abstract:

The influences of fit between generic manufacturing strategies (GMS) and manufacturing objectives on cost efficiency, quality, delivery, flexibility and innovation is examined. The experimental results regarding this correlation are presented. The Kotha and Orne (1989) generic manufacturing strategies framework is followed to analyze the design choices.
