Hostile environmental jolts, transaction set, and new business

Article Abstract:

The impact of environmental jolts on the ability of entrepreneurs to sustain or establish new relationships with customers and suppliers was analyzed through the use of longitudinal data coming from five start-up companies. The data revealed that environmental jolts do not have a marked effect on entrepreneurs' capability to establish new ties. The degree of reduction after environmental jolts tends to be less intense during a company's early part of existence and highly intense during its adolescent stage.
