The challenge of managing organizational change: Exploring the relationship of re-engineering, developing learning organizations and total quality management

Article Abstract:

Three approaches for organization transformation include re-engineering, total quality management and the development of learning organizations. Total quality management and developing learning organizations can manage change without disrupting the organization's human resources. They are widely acceptable as the most successful way to bring about change while preserving the integrity of the company.

A new total quality management frontier: getting ready to jump the curve

Rapid changes in the competitive business environment require quality management procedures that can be rapidly deployed. While careful long-term planning provides a foundation for corporate survival, new procedures should focus on future markets and products and avoid implementation slow-downs. Possible difficulties include poor resource utilization and failure to build competencies.
