Interest alignment and competitive advantage

Article Abstract:

The sources of competitive advantage are outlined by linking individual motivation with the performance of firms under market competition at the organizational level. A comprehensive theory of competitive advantage is based on the sources such as influence of tacitness, context specificity and causal ambiguity that determine various types of motivations under different environmental conditions.

Integrating implicit motives, explicit motives, and perceived abilities: The compensatory model of work motivation and volition

Article Abstract:

The compensatory model of work motivation and volition merges the three previously unrelated approaches to human motivation, namely, dual theories, theories on volition, and theories on perceived abilities. The basic notion of the compensatory model is that volitional regulation compensates for insufficient motivation due to implicit/explicit motive discrepancies.

Relational job design and the motivation to make a prosocial difference

Article Abstract:

The relational architecture of jobs includes the structural properties of work that shape the employees opportunities to connect and interact with the people. This type of construction of the work motivates the employees to make a prosocial difference because of a perceived impact on beneficiaries and affective commitment to beneficiaries.
