July jobless rate falls to 6.8%

The unemployment rate declined from 7% in June 1993 to 6.8% in Jul 1993, according to the Labor Dept. California reported the highest unemployment rate, at 9.8%, in July. The number of civilians employed rose from 119.2 million in Jun 1993 to 119.3 million in Jul 1993.

Jobless rate rose to 5.7% in July

Article Abstract:

The Labor Dept reported that the unemployment rate increased from 5.6% in Jun 1995, to 5.7% in Jul 1995. Total civilian jobs increased from 131.87 million to 132.52, with nonfarm accounting for 116.55 million. A total of 55,000 new jobs were created in July 1995.
