Article Abstract:

A piece of business legislation that is being examined is a bill creating product-liability standards. This bill would pre-empt state laws creating a uniform system. Other objectives that would be accomplished through this bill are examined. Many consumer and labor groups regard this bill as pro-business. Controversy over this bill is presented.

Industry Braces for Apr. 1 Unified Rules

Article Abstract:

The development of the government's Federal Aquisition Regulations (FAR) will go into effect April 1, 1984. This document sets procurement rules for the federal government. FAR has not made substantive changes in procurement policy, but has simplified the terms. The reactions to FAR are examined.
