Manufacturing meets the world

Article Abstract:

Developing a world-class manufacturing base is indicative of a vital component of a healthy global economy: using knowledge, and studies suggest that Australia is falling behind in its approach to knowledge management. A PA Consulting Group survey discovered that 28% of managers interviewed did not have a manufacturing strategy, nor did they consider one important. An ANOP Research Services study reports that Australia's manufacturing industry's image is nationalized and not seen as globally competitive.

The pay puzzle

Article Abstract:

A survey was conducted to examine the relationship between pay and performance using three measures namely, the return on equity, changes in the share, and the changes to earning per share. It was observed that to create the right kind of incentives for senior executives, it is needed to assume some form of share ownership or performance target, which are in addition to the basic salary.
