McKinsey breeds Web wunderkinder

Article Abstract:

Several former staff members of management consultancy firm McKinsey and Company Inc. are running some of Australia's biggest information technology companies, and that may be due to the skills they learned while at McKinsey. Many staff members of McKinsey are able to accept high levels of risk, a concept important in the Internet corporate environment. Some former employees have become millionaires, such as Jeremy Philips, deputy chairman of ecorp.

Titles, layers...everything goes as a consultancy re-engineers itself

Article Abstract:

The Australian business consulting firm Sedgwick Noble Lowndes implemented a major reengineering that included the termination of standard business titles in favor of new titles. The new titles of dean, professor, explorer, captain, builder, rainmaker and sphinx describe the new roles that were created for its 250 employees. The new titles help the company create a history, which is essential to corporate survival.
