Article Abstract:

The success of FourGen Technologies Software Inc can be attributed to its management philosophy that focuses on teamwork and employee empowerment. Since its establishment in 1986, the company has accumulated $10 million worth of assets and at present, boasts of its 85 personnel. The employees are free to make their own choices and are accountable for the decisions that they make. They are grouped into three or four and each team has a leader who facilitates group action. Employee empowerment, on the other hand, makes it possible for workers to define their own functions. Indeed, the company knows how to make efficient use of its human resources.

Technological innovations may produce a downtrend in marketing and spell financial problems for small companies. Management strategies aimed in offsetting this development require proper direction, speed, creativity, research, good business sense and market analysis. Existing liabilities should be disposed and facilities and services modified and upgraded to gain competitiveness. Small businesses can target certain market positions for their products and services and even consider international markets and branching out.
