The security alliance with the US is the foundation for Australian initiatives. While, Australia has an important role to play as stabiliser and integrator within its neighborhood of East Asia and the Pacific Islands, its military and intelligence collaboration with the US has enabled Australia to be involved in US decision-making of national interest.
