Organizational excellence: Do your stakeholders agree?

Article Abstract:

The findings from 21 colleges of Further Education, which have participated in surveys of both staff and learners satisfaction and have taken part in a diagnostic benchmarking exercise using the 'Learning PROBE' methodology are presented. The results revealed that the combined effects of a number of related practices seems to have a greater impact upon stakeholders satisfaction rather than implementation of individual, standalone 'good practices'.

The 'Made in Europe' studies, published during the 1990s, were a landmark in advancing the understanding of 'best manufacturing practice' and the extent to which it is effectively deployed. The studies reflect upon the lessons learned from 10 years of experience of deploying diagnostic benchmarking in support of organizational change and learning.

Managerial choice and performance in service management-a comparison of private sector organizations with further education colleges

Article Abstract:

The use of service management practices in public sector area, further education colleges is compared to private sector service organizations. A research conducted to compare service management practices in both the sectors is presented. The research indicates that human resource factors have a stronger impact than quality procedures.
