Bruce Gordon, Australia's media mogul and owner of television station WIN Corporation is in controversy for his association with Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi and Hollywood producer Frank Agrama, who are facing tax fraud charges in Italy. The copy rights tax fraud issue took place during the tenure of Gordon as the president of Paramount International Television Distribution.

Bird flu bungle

Article Abstract:

Relenza, a drug for treating flu is found to be effective against the avian strain that has been devastating poultry flocks in Asia. The drug was discovered by Australia's Biota Holdings, and is licensed to GlaxoSmithKline under a marketing agreement. The two companies are, however, fighting a case, while the rest of the world is sitting over a possibility of an avian flu pandemic.

David Knott's missing chapter

Article Abstract:

David Knott, the chairman of Australia's corporate watchdog, was in partnership with a man, Ian David Stafford Collie, who later became well known to the authorities. Knott's partner in Collie Knott & Co, Ian David Stafford Collie, was involved in sales tax fraud that resulted in Collie being disqualified as a company director and being struck off the law register.
