Quality value-chain: a meta-synthesis of frontiers of quality movement

Article Abstract:

The increased attention given by US industry to quality has made evident the varied perceptions regarding its practice. The evolution of quality control as a business philosophy is traced and specific proponents of the practice are emphasized. These gurus of quality include W. Edwards Deming, Joseph Juran, Armand V. Feigenbaum, Kaoru Ishikawa, Genichi Taguchi, Philip Crosby and David Kearns. The analysis of these varied approaches to quality management shows that successive proponents sought more expansive domains for quality within an organization.

Article Abstract:

Two arguments which offer different views on the sustainability of strategic management were presented. One argument says that a competitive advantage can be developed by early entrants that will bring high market share while hypercompetition researchers believe that early advantage can not be sustained.
