Recognizing and reducing transcultural ethical tension

Article Abstract:

Several strategies are suggested that may assist managers of multinational corporations (MNC) cope with transcultural ethical conflicts. MNC managers must be aware of the religious, moral, political and economic factors mediating business practices occurring in corporate locations. MNC managers must commit to moral values involved in cultural practices and in instances where there is a conflict between local values and corporate practice, shared commitment must be developed. The formulation of an ethics code must involve the participation of individuals from transcultural settings.

Albania and the Bora Company: lessons learned before the recent chaos

Article Abstract:

The political instability in Albania proved disastrous for the business and industry sector, hampering the growth of several promising corporate entities. Although the transition to a market economy has been successful in other parts of Europe, business enterprises in Albania failed to capitalize on growth opportunities. Investors who are eyeing to operate under these type of markets are advised to forge a direct contact with successful local entrepreneurs and employ the technical know-how of western countries.
