Reel Money

Article Abstract:

As moviegoers seem to be abandoning movies to stay home and watch cable television, movie makers are trying to discover new techniques which will bring people back to the movies. One method involves film speeds which are double the normal film speed. This allows viewers to see, more realistically, what is occuring on screen, almost like a 3-D movie. This technique got positive responses when shown, and more investors are expected to get involved. Another new technique is called Reactivision, and involves viewer participation. In the movie, which is a comic adventure, viewers are given a choice about which way the story line should proceed, and their verbal response, which registers on the film, is then shown. Both of these techniques are still in the beginning stages, yet may offer future hope for the movie industry.
